Please call the non-emergency number 946-5003. If no answer call 911
tell them it is a non-emergency and to send a Newark Police Officer
over to 199 Van Buren Street with a key to the facilities.

New this summer - Music Along the Erie - Bands will be performing at T Spencer  Knight Park- Sunday afternoons beginning July 4th at 1pm. See our calendar. July 4th features the Fabulous Bullheads at 1:00pm Vendors and food will be available. Check our web calendar by month for schedule. Wine walk scheduled for Sat., Sept. 25th Nick Gilette Band will be playing . Details on our web calendar. 

Nestled along the calm waters of the historic Erie Canal, the Village of Newark welcomes boaters and visitors to the Port of Newark Interpretive Center, which also houses the Greater Newark Chamber of Commerce Office at Lock 28B in the Village of Newark New York.

Docking facilities at Lock 28B offers boaters

There's no docking fee

A walking trail along the canal, picnic facilities as well as close proximity to village merchants including restaurants, drug stores, hairdressers, grocery and hardware stores, along with lodging and modern movie theater complex. Wi-Fi is available at the Port of Newark and there is also Free Internet access available at the library.all within walking distance from your boat dock on the canal.

Once home of the famous Jackson & Perkins Rose Gardens, Bloomer Bros Specialty Box Company and Sarah Coventry Jewelry-part of the CH Stuart Company as well as the Mora Motor Car Company of Newark producing cars from 1906-1912.

Relive these companies by visiting the Newark-Arcadia Historical Society Museum,
at 120 High Street, a quick walk from the canal.
