CHUCK CRAIG AWARD WINNER
Ashlee Williams Honored at June Luncheon.
Chosen as the 2008 Chuck Craig Award Winner, Ashlee Williams is the daughter of Robert and Sherry Williams of Summit Drive, Newark.
Ashlee graduated from DeSales High School in Geneva this June. There she played basketball all four years. She was a cheerleader and softball player. She was the Senior class vice president. She was a SALT member (school apostle leader team) and ran on campus groups Reality Check, Star Flyers and was a member of the International Club. She was on Principal's honor roll as well. She also was a recipient for the Geneva Rotary Club Award at graduation. Ashlee's volunteer activities include Golden Olympics, Nursery attendant for Park Presbyterian Church, holiday parties for the village and AECC and leading retreats for her classmates at DeSales. She will be attending Cazenovia College in the fall. She is working this summer

AARP Driver Safety Course will be offered by the Newark Chamber of Commerce Wed & Thurs Sept. 17 & 18 at the Alex Eligh Community Center on East Ave at 6:00pm sharp. You must be a licensed driver , age 18 or older. Class size is limited. Fee is $10.00. You must pre-register. You can pay the first night of class. Be sure to bring your driver's license. Many auto insurance companies offer a discount for taking this course. Call 331-2705 to register.
Visitors from the UK Sailors Robbie and Sue Hart, aboard the Barbarossa, from Benfleet Essex UK , docked at the Village of Newark, Tuesday June 24th.
